What: The artefact is a student Speech Pathology Progress Report written by our Speech Pathologist. How: Chatswood Public School currently has a Speech Pathologist working 1 day a week. She is employed through a company called Learning Links. When: The speech pathologist has been working at the school since Term 4 of 2016. Why: The need for a speech pathologist was identified due to a high number of speech referrals to the learning support team.

The Significant Impact

As Chatswood Public School aims to cater for the needs of all children, the need for a speech pathologist was identified and action was taken. She assessed students from K-2 who were identified by their teachers as having speech issues using the speech pathology assessment. Other grades referred students through the learning support team. A program was set up by the speech pathologist to cater for the needs of all those she assessed and deemed needed assistance. She has set individual goals for all these students. As seen in the artefact, the Speech Pathologist reports to the teachers, who report to the parents on the progress made by the students.
