Annotation

The artefact is the School Management Plan. Why: The School Management Plan is a comprehensive document covering all teacher roles, responsibilities and teams for the current year. What: Chatswood Public School has eight major committees encompassing all Key Learning Areas and ten minor committees for special school programs. The School Management Plan also lists in detail the various extra duties, roles and responsibilities throughout the school. How: Staff are required to join one major and one minor committee in an area of their interest or expertise. When: Teachers take on extra duties and responsibilities on a voluntary basis and make the commitment for the school year. In addition to duties, roles and responsibilities, the School Management Plan also contains clearly outlined role statements of key leadership and administration positions within the school.
The Significant Impact
Through engaging with extra roles and responsibilities within the school, teachers are given the opportunity to grow professionally and develop their leadership skills in a supportive environment. It is clear that Chatswood Public School continues to provide a range of quality leadership and growth opportunities for staff members resulting in career development and satisfaction and in turn, quality programs and improved outcomes for students. The School Management Plan clearly demonstrates our commitment to our school’s strategic direction ‘Quality Teaching and Leadership’.
