The artefacts include a QTR feedback sheet, the teachers involved and a timetable demonstrating the sharing of QTSS time. When: Quality Teaching Rounds officially began at Chatswood Public School in 2015 involving four teachers and have now expanded into eight Professional Learning Groups involving 32 teachers. What: In addition, as part of whole school Staff Development in conjunction with the North Harbour Learning Community, Professor Jenny has been scheduled for two twilight professional development sessions in 2017. Quality Teaching and Successful Student time was also introduced in 2016 and continues throughout 2017 to encourage further observations and team teaching time. How: During the process of the Quality Teaching Rounds, teachers observe the classroom practice of their peers then the consequent impact of this improvement on Intellectual Quality, Quality Learning Environment and Significance is discussed after critical reflection.
Why: The use of QTR and QTSS time ensures teaching practise is engaging and dynamic for the students involved.

Constructive feedback is received by those who had already taken part which. Quality teaching and professional practice are evident in every learning environment at Chatswood Public School, which provides students with opportunities to connect, succeed and thrive that are relevant to their stages of learning and development.

This program has become a vital feature of our learning culture with a strong commitment to strengthen professional development and deliver on school learning programs.

Time is also given to teachers not involved in the Quality Teaching Rounds to observe experienced and expert teachers in certain areas such as TENS, L3, L3 Stage 1 and other Key Learning Areas. In addition, Quality Teaching and Successful Student time is evenly distributed amongst teams for areas such as team-teaching, collaborative programming and mentoring.

The QTR provides opportunity for succession planning and leadership as each Professional Learning Group requires a leader to organise, lead discussions and ensure the process is run smoothly. Eight participants had the opportunity to attend the two day training course run by the University of Newcastle to ensure a common understanding of the process and the expectations required. Effective allocation of school resources including financial is planned to ensure successful implementation of this project at Chatswood Public School.
